Ukraine’s Defense Ministry Retains Maryna Bezrukova as Head of Defence Procurement Agency
• Ukraine’s Defence Minister Rustem Umierov announced on 24 January that the ministry would not extend the contract with Maryna Bezrukova, the head of the Defense Procurement Agency (DPA).
• Bezrukova was dismissed due to “failure to meet delivery plans and other violations,” following escalating tensions between the ministry and the DPA.
• The Ministry of Defence appoints Maryna Bezrukova as the new head of the Defence Procurement Agency, a state-owned enterprise of the Ukrainian Ministry of Defence.
• Bezrukova has 20 years of experience in supply chains and developing partnerships with foreign companies in the USA, Europe, Canada, and the Middle East.
• The change of management is the first step towards a radical reboot of the Defence Procurement Agency.
