Job Summary
This post is the Management reporting HEO responsible for Director FGen (DD Logs). It is an important role ensuring that support and accurate information is provided to the FBP team.
The Management Reporting HEO Is Responsible For
Supporting the FBP team to build and sustain the partnership between Finance and the Business.
Performing important month end activities, ensuring accuracy, and providing supporting information to assist the team in the production of financial reports
Developing collaborative relationships with key stakeholders in the business
Ensuring that financial reporting is accurately completed both within corporate reporting systems and for input of accounting entries to support decision making.
The role requires a wide range of skills and requires the incumbent to utilise a combined skill set encompassing interpersonal skills, professional skills and technical knowledge.
The post holder is also responsible for supporting the DFBP in:
Undertaking line management duties (if applicable). Setting the direction, empowering, motivating and coaching team members to enable effective delivery of objectives and supporting individuals’ personal development and careers.
Embedding a culture based on desired behaviours including role modelling how these should be practiced.
Building a supportive team environment and encouraging sharing of knowledge and experience throughout.

Job Description
Management Reporting HEO’s are expected to perform important month end activities, ensure accuracy, and provide supporting information to assist the team in the production of financial reports. Ensuring that financial reporting is accurately completed both within corporate reporting systems and for input of accounting entries to support decision making. Typical responsibilities include but are not limited to:
Providing insight to the Business, Finance Leadership Team, and wider Finance teams
Producing standardised reports / dashboards for monthly financial reviews and ABC screenings, along with supplementary information to the FBP and FLT as appropriate.
Although team members may support specific Business area(s), all team members will be expected to be flexible and cover Business areas as required.
[Finance Business Partnering] Building effective stakeholder engagement
Building and maintaining relationships with customer budget holders and wider stakeholders.
Acting as the first line of defence for issues and queries raised by the business where there is no clear solution or if a rapid resolution can be provided.
Responsible for seeking specialist direction from the FBP team

Being involved at the start, reviewing, and providing input to business cases, investment appraisal and other strategic documentation, identifying and highlighting any potential issues.
Providing advice on compliance with policy, standards, accountabilities, and controls
Undertaking scrutiny of business cases valued up to £5m ensuring that cases provide value for money, consider the wider corporate impact (e.g. legal, commercial), through-life implications and that a robust risk assessment is undertaken.

Person specification
Essential
Experience in Management and Financial Accounting with good excel skills
Excellent communication and influencing skills
Building effective stakeholder engagement to deliver results
Experience of analysis and interpretation of data
Desirable
Qualifications – Level 4 qualification with AAT, CCAB or CIMA, or working towards qualification CCAB, CIMA or equivalent and some financial experience.
Experience in leading a team
An understanding of financial scrutiny and approval decisions
