The Role
As a Mechanical Design Engineer, you will provide solutions, take ownership of delivery, manage and coordinate project interfaces, and communicate between stakeholders.
Day-to-day, you’ll support numerous domains, such as Aircraft Modification and Ship design. Each team that you collaborate with will have unique engineering specialities & focuses.
Your Responsibilities Will Include
Leading design activities, including creating hardware solutions, driving technical delivery plans, and chairing design reviews (PDR/CDR)
Balancing requirements to deliver optimal solutions, articulate risks and assumptions, and support change management
Applying advanced CAD tools and technical expertise to design complex systems and components, ensuring compliance with industry standards
Collaborating with and supervising multidisciplinary teams, fostering innovation and best practices while driving project success
Owning and managing interface coordination, ensuring seamless integration across teams and stakeholders
Essential Experience Of The Mechanical Design Engineer

This role is 37 hours per week based at Gosport.
Our facilities at the Haslar Marine Technology Park are state-of-the-art, including our ocean basin and rotating arm, and marine towing tank, offering an unparalleled environment for testing and refining designs. Our marine technology offers our global customers a service to deliver constrained hydrodynamic model tests of surface ships, submarines, offshore structures, and renewable energy devices.
