About the Team
Based at the state of the art facility, Military Vehicles Centre of Excellence join a small team of dedicated professionals managing international and domestic freight management. Liaising with multiple freight forwarders, couriers and transport companies you manage the movement of material for all RDA programs, projects and teams.
About The Role
The Logistics Specialist will be responsible for coordinating the movement of production materials from supplier manufacturing sites within Australia and around the globe, as well as the movement of vehicles from RLS and RMMV in Europe to Australia and return to Europe (HWC-Project). Additionally, this position will have responsibility for ad-hoc freight movements in support of vehicle testing and other project related activities.
This role is responsible for end-to-end management of logistics via relevant policy and procedure implementation, parts packing strategy, supply chain analysis and the management of 3PL providers. It will champion supply chain processes across all stakeholders, and ensure close alignment with the Senior Supply Manager, and Rheinmetall global practices.
As a Logistics Specialist, you can anticipate some of your day-to-day tasks to include:
Coordinate and monitor vehicle and parts movements form both International and Local sources, to Brisbane port and other varied recipients, by sea, air and road freight;
Coordinate ad-hoc vehicle or parts movements and export shipments to various recipients with limited notice, including raising Requests for Quotes and Purchase Requisitions;
Monitor delivery documentation requirements for receipt in to local 3PL, and managing local parts delivery schedule and receipting;
Manage and monitor shipments through customs, and Quarantine International Import certificates and Delivery Verification certifications.
Assisting to conduct supplier performance reviews and monitoring KPI’s to ensure 3PL activities are achieved and within assigned budgets;
Identify and provide improvement opportunities to the supply chain to contribute to the best total cost of ownership;
Manage minor commercial tasks in support of contracts, including creation of Purchase Requisitions, approving invoices, and developing Contract Change Proposals, with support;
Material management assistance and change notice tracking and input as required; and
With guidance, undertaking transport budget forecasting in support of financial and commercial requirements.

The experience and skillset best suited to this role includes:
Qualifications in Logistics and Supply Chain or relevant discipline;
3 + years or equivalent of similar experience in logistics, transport, shipping and/or management of freight movements;
Experience with Customs Import and Export requirements and documentation;
Proficient in MS Office i.e. Microsoft Excel, Word, SharePoint and Outlook;
Demonstrated ability to problem solve and ability to manage changing requirements ensuring efficiency and cost effectiveness;
Willing to travel interstate when required; and
Eligibility to obtain an Australian Government Security Clearance (Australian Citizenship required).
