The Hardware Engineer will be engaged in the design, development, integration, verification and support of electronic surveillance systems for the ADF. The Hardware Engineer will assist the project team in:
Specific duties include:
Deriving system requirements and performing functional analysis;
Developing system architectures optimised against key performance and environmental requirements;
Developing detailed designs from system requirements;
Participating in formal system and hardware design reviews;
Transitioning designs into safe products through procurement and manufacture;
Conducting hardware, software and firmware integration;
Developing Test Plans, Test Procedures and Analysis Test Reports;
Executing and participating in formal system qualification activities;
Development of product documentation including design documentation, training material and handbooks; and
Participate in Health, Safety & Environment (HSE) activities to maintain a safe and clean work environment

Experience/Knowledge:
High speed digital architectures;
Digital Signal Processing techniques;
HDL design experience and FPGA implementation;
Analogue Circuit Design;
Conducting hardware, software and firmware integration;
Good understanding of EIA-632 Systems Engineering design methodology;
Experience in working collaboratively in a multi-discipline engineering team to deliver quality outcomes on time and within cost constraints; and
Demonstrated commitment to WHS procedures and practices
Qualifications:
Bachelor’s Degree in Electronics Engineering (or equivalent);
At least 5 years’ experience in hardware design involving of embedded systems is desirable;
Familiarity with the processes and governance requirements in developing product for the Australian Defence Organisation
