About the Opportunity
Reporting to the Head of Technical Governance and Assurance, the Engineering Manager- Infrastructure Assurance is accountable for establishing technical facilities requirements and assurance guidelines aligned with relevant standards and legislation to ensure safety and productivity of ASC’s facilities, support and test equipment, and infrastructure.
The Engineering Manager- Infrastructure Assurance will continuously improve governance and quality assurance across the whole organisation. This work will support Australia’s nuclear and conventional submarines in both build and maintenance activities. It is strongly aligned with ASC’s Strategy and directly assists ASC to meet relevant contractual deliverables.
The Engineering Manager- Infrastructure Assurance will need to build and lead a focussed, highly skilled team across several ASC locations. They will need to ensure team members are provided with direction and attainable yet challenging performance targets.
Working within the Technical Governance and Assurance leadership team, this position is required to maintain a strategic perspective of the entire business and consider a wide range of longer-term issues, opportunities, and risks to ensure ongoing business success. This role will support several key external relationships, such as the government and various regulators, as well as the associated technical regulations and compliance requirements.
This position will require some travel to work with ASC team members and stakeholders interstate.
This is a full-time opportunity based at either our Osborne site in SA.
Responsibilities
Establish technical facilities requirements and assurance guidelines in line with relevant standards and legislation to ensure safety and productivity of ASC’s facilities, support and test equipment, and infrastructure
Improve governance and quality assurance guardrails across the whole organisation
Support Australia’s nuclear and conventional submarines in both build and maintenance activities
Maintain a strategic perspective on longer-term issues, opportunities, and risks to ensure ongoing business success
Build and lead a team across multiple locations and disciplines
Develop and support key external relationships with government and regulators, ensuring compliance with technical regulations
About you
Experience managing assets in high-risk environments
Demonstrated leadership of professional and/or trade qualified technical teams
Experienced leading organisations through technical change and improvement
5+ years’ working in technical roles within high-risk and regulated industries
Experience managing and obtaining regulatory approval for high-risk plant and operations
Exposure to risk mitigation on high-risk infrastructure (i.e. pressure vessels, lifting equipment, electrical, fire systems)
Proven success applying regulations and standards to complex organisations
Eligibility
This role requires a current National Police Clearance and an Australian Defence Security Clearance to a NV1 level. Your eligibility for this role is dependent on you obtaining and maintaining such clearance.
Whilst ASC will accept all applications for this role, as this role requires an ability to access protected US defence technology, applicants holding nationality of certain foreign countries will not be eligible.
