About the job:
Based in The Mons, Belgium you will join the Agency as we embark on a journey to transform our IT services to support NATO’s Digital Endeavour. You will join The Joint Intelligence, Surveillance and Reconnaissance (JISR) Centre is responsible for the full life cycle of its services. The JISR Centre’s Vision is to assure information superiority for NATO. Its Mission is to deliver, support and protect valued Intelligence, Surveillance and Reconnaissance (ISR) capabilities, expertise and services and to maximise operational effectiveness for NATO through a wide range of coherent JISR services, supported by well-trained, highly knowledgeable and uniquely experienced staff, in four key JISR domains: Intelligence Applications, Operational ISR Support, Electronic Warfare/Surveillance Services and Geospatial/Meteorological/Oceanographic Information Services.
We are looking for a driven and enthusiastic Engineer (ICT System) who will take on the following roles and responsibilities:
Manage and coordinate the activities and resources of the JISR Service Support Centre (JSSC), which is split into specialized ISR Application Services cluster teams;
Represent the JISRC Level 2 support into internal and external meetings, workshops, CABs and conferences as required;
Offer Subject Matter Expertise for the JISR application services to the user community and to COIs;
Software configuration: design, verify, document, amend and refactor complex software configurations for deployment;
System software: monitor system software metrics and adjust configurations for optimum availability and performance;
Systems installation and removal: undertake or supervise complex installations and de-installations of systems or components, including handover to the client;
Release and deployment: asses and analyse release components for input to release scheduling.

About you:
The valuable knowledge and experience that you bring to this role are:
A minimum requirement of a Bachelor’s degree at a nationally recognised/certified University in a related discipline and 2 years post-related experience. Or exceptionally, the lack of a university degree may be compensated by the demonstration of a candidate’s particular abilities or experience that is/are of interest to NCI Agency, that is, at least 6 years extensive and progressive expertise in duties related to the function of the post;
At least 2 years proven experience in managing medium sized teams of engineers/technicians in a multicultural environment;
At least 2 years experience with platform management in a large organization;
Extensive experience of Web application support and technologies (HTML, JSON, REST, WSDL, XML, WMS, WCS, WFS);
Extensive (remote) server administration experience;
Knowledge of DNS, DHCP, WSUS, GPOs;
Microsoft SQL Server Administration knowledge (installation, configuration, maintenance, backup policies);
Very good virtualization skills, preferably on VMware with System Centre integration.
Azure DevOps experience;
Good knowledge of PowerShell and/or Python scripting;
XML file manipulation, XSDs validation and maintenance and automation done through scripting;
Demonstrable experience in roles requiring excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to diagnose and resolve complex technical issues;
Effective communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to interact professionally with technical and non-technical stakeholders;
Fluency in English, both written and spoken.
