Job Description
We are seeking a motivated and passionate professional to join our South East Team as a Security System Project Manager. This role is central to delivering the installation and maintenance of security systems across Ministry of Defence and other Government Department estates.
As a Security System Project Manager with SSG, you will act as the primary customer interface, representing SSG at high-level external meetings. Your key responsibilities will include:
Strategic Engagement: Lead complex discussions and negotiations with SSG Project Managers and Client Security Officers on key project and maintenance accounts.
Team Leadership: Line manage a dedicated team of in-house specialists and subcontractors to ensure project and maintenance contracts are delivered on time, within budget, and to the highest quality standards.
Financial Oversight: Manage all financial aspects of projects, including estimating, costing, invoicing, and budget reporting. Provide detailed financial breakdowns to the Regional Team Leader.
Technical Delivery: Interpret and develop operational and client requirements to deliver functional security solutions.
Regulatory Compliance: Ensure adherence to British, European, and Government standards for security, as well as QA and Health & Safety policies.
On Call Support: Participate in SSG’s on-call rota to provide timely support when needed.
Training: Full functional training will be provided on specific systems to meet business needs.
Location and Travel Requirements:
Work is primarily based at SSG customer sites across the South East. You will be required to travel across the region to multiple Governmental and Military sites. You may be provided with a non-liveried company vehicle to work in your region (eligible for personal use with a taxable benefit). Due to operational needs, there will be occasions where detached duty is required. This may involve staying overnight at locations that are an unsuitable distance from your home address.
Allowances:
Where applicable, allowances are provided, including:
London Weighting Allowance (£3300)
Travel Time (for travel outside of core hours)
On-Call Allowance
Recall-to-duty when returning to work unexpectedly
Environmental (Radiation) allowance as applicable
Travel and Subsistence for out-of-region and overtime assignments.

You will be contracted to work 37 hours a week, typically between 08:00-16:00, however through the above allowances, you will have the opportunity to increase your potential earnings.

Person specification
Essential Requirements:
A working knowledge of installing or maintaining data/IP networks.
Experience with security system installations, including IDS, VSS, AACS, and PIDS.
Self-motivation, excellent workload management, and the ability to work independently.
A passion for customer service and a commitment to personal development.
Demonstrable experience in the security industry.
Desirable Requirements:
Membership with the Engineering Council or Security Institute.
HNC in Electrical or Electronic Engineering (or equivalent).
NVQ/SVQ Level 3 or OND/ONC in Electronic Security Systems (IDS, VSS, etc.).
A recognised qualification in Project Management.
