Job Description
DBS DIT provides digital capability that supports corporate services across the Ministry of Defence, including Finance, Commercial, Payroll and Human Resources for Military Personnel, Civilian Personnel and Veterans. Our digital solutions comprise enterprise resource planning systems, performance management, analytics, automation, low code applications and public facing services through Gov.uk.
As a Senior Delivery Manager within the DBS DIT Automation Garage (AG) you will provide support to DBS DIT AG Service Owner, Programme Managers and wider AG team in the delivery of their workstreams.
Key Responsibilities
Coach and lead teams in Agile/Waterfall and Lean practices
Apply experience in multiple parts of the product life cycle
Lead a continual planning process in a very complex environment and plan beyond product delivery
Take responsibility for complex relationships with contracted suppliers
Actively address the most complicated risks, issues and dependencies including where ownership exists outside the team or no clear ownership exists
Identify appropriate contractual frameworks and identify appropriate suppliers
Mediate between people and mend relationships, communicating with stakeholders at all levels
Set budgets and write business cases
Identify problems or issues in the team dynamic and rectify them
Builds productive relationships at all levels.

Person specification
Essential Skills
Has a deep knowledge of various project management methodologies and leads on a range of Lean tools and techniques, with an ability to coach within and outside of their team
Excellent communication skills, including verbal and written
Good planning, problem solving and organisational skills
Desirable Skills
Holds a recognised Agile or Waterfall project management qualification.
Minimum of 3 years’ project management experience in either Agile or Waterfall.
