Location: Greater Manchester
Salary: £40,000 – £46,000 + Bonus
Experience needed: We are looking for a skilled engineer with extensive experience in the calibration of test equipment and maintenance of test systems to component level. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of calibration principles and processes, excellent problem-solving skills, and the ability to work across multiple tasks.
About the role:
We are seeking an Calibration Engineer to join our Calibration & Maintenance Team. In this role, you will service a variety of electrical and electronic test equipment, including Special to Type Test Equipment (STTE). The work is varied, challenging, and essential to supporting our manufacturing operations at all stages of product assembly and testing.
You will work closely with engineers across the business to resolve routine and non-routine calibration and maintenance tasks. This includes fault finding, repair, commissioning, and drift analysis. As part of a dynamic team, you will play a key role in ensuring the smooth operation of complex test platforms for the manufacture of our products.
Key Responsibilities:
Calibrate and maintain electrical and electronic test systems and equipment
Conduct fault-finding and repairs down to component level
Provide technical guidance and mentorship to junior staff
Support routine calibration schedules, commissioning, and drift analysis
Work directly with support functions to resolve technical challenges
Maintain compliance with safety standards and manufacturing processes
Contribute to team knowledge-sharing and workload planning
What we need from you:
Proven expertise in calibrating and maintaining test equipment to component level
Ability to follow technical instructions, handbooks, and drawings to perform repairs and measurements
Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities
Proficiency in SAP is desirable
