The Border Surveillance System (BOSS) by BEL is an advanced thermal imager-based solution designed for all-weather, unmanned monitoring of border areas at altitudes exceeding 14,000 feet. This system enhances traditional manned patrols by automatically detecting intrusions and providing continuous operation for up to 14 days. Equipped with a BFSR that boasts an extended detection range of at least 10 kilometers, BOSS integrates an electro-optical payload featuring both day and thermal cameras with detection ranges of 12 km and 10 km, respectively. It operates under harsh battlefield conditions and degraded visibility, allowing remote control from distances up to 20 km via wireless or optical fiber links. Additional features include a laser range finder, GPS, pan-tilt unit, control unit, and a hybrid power source utilizing solar energy and direct methanol fuel cells, ensuring secure real-time transmission of images and videos to a control and monitoring station.
Police Control rooms are mission critical environments. It is essential that the system (people, process and technology) works at an optimal level so that calls are handled effectively and efficiently.
