Rheinmetall to supply rescue stations to Bundeswehr in major contract
• German defense company Rheinmetall has secured a significant contract to supply up to 120 rescue stations to the Bundeswehr.
• The contract, commissioned by the Federal Office for Bundeswehr Equipment, Information Technology and In-Service Support (BAAINBw), is set to be formalised in January 2025 and valued in the high double-digit million euro range.
• The highly mobile aid-stations are used by the Bundeswehr medical service to provide surgical and internal emergency care for the armed forces.
• The order, valued at several tens of millions of euros, will officially be recorded in January 2025, with delivery of the first systems scheduled to begin in December 2025.
• The Bundesamt für Ausrüstung, Informationstechnik und Nutzung der Bundeswehr (BAAINBw) has ordered Rheinmetall to deliver (up to) 120 rescue stations for the Bundeswehr.
• The first ten ballistic-protected units and six unprotected units are scheduled for delivery between 2025 and 2027.
• The Bundeswehr Procurement Office has commissioned the manufacture and delivery of up to 120 rescue stations to ensure the best possible first aid for wounded soldiers in an emergency.
