Aatmanirbhar Bharat: MoD inks Rs 2,960 crore contract with BDL for Medium-Range Surface-to-Air Missiles for Indian Navy
• The Ministry of Defence (MoD) has signed a contract with Bharat Dynamics Limited (BDL) for the supply of Medium-Range Surface-to-Air Missiles (MRSAM) for the Indian Navy.
• The contract was signed in the presence of Defence Secretary Shri Rajesh Kumar Singh in New Delhi.
• The contract is valued at approximately Rs 2,960 crore.
• The agreement was formalized in the presence of Defence Secretary Shri Rajesh Kumar Singh on January 16, 2025, in New Delhi.
• The contract is viewed as a critical milestone in enhancing India’s defence.
• The MoD has also signed a Rs 3,700 crore contract with BEL for the production of medium-range surface-to-air missiles.
• The contract is expected to enhance India’s naval power.
