KAI Takes Steps to Mass Produce KF-21 Boramae
South Korea’s KF-21 Boramae fighter is being mass produced.
• Central fuselage and main wing are assembled in South Gyeongsang Province.
• The project aims to develop Korea’s first domestically equipped fighter aircraft.
• The KF-21 is a 4.5-generation supersonic fighter jet, expected to replace Korea’s F-4 and F-5 fighters.
• The project has a budget of 8 trillion won ($5.4 billion).
• The KF-21 Boramae will be a central pillar of the nation’s air defense strategy.
