Draken agrees £173m MoD contract which will support Teesside jobs

 

• Draken, an aviation services and technology firm, has signed a £173m Ministry of Defence contract to secure its operations at Teesside International Airport.
• The contract will support Armed Forces training for responding to various threats, including air-to-air combat, electronic warfare, and missile attacks.
• The deal will ensure the continuation of Draken’s Teesside operations for another four years.
• Draken’s operations will be supported by the Ministry of Defence, ensuring the continuation of its Teesside activities.
• The contract will also enable ongoing military training support with the Royal Air Force (RAF) for an additional four-year period.
• Draken’s operations will be supported by a new hangar to accommodate Draken’s fleet of Alca L-159E “Honey Badger” aircraft.
• The deal is expected to strengthen national security and boost Teesside International Airport.
