Chemring: British defence giant wins major US contract for missile radars
• Chemring, a British defense company, has won a major US contract for the supply of miniature radars.
• The four-year contract, valued at £26m, will commence production at the firm’s Hampshire headquarters in October.
• Chemring will supply Miniature Radar Altimeters (MRA) via its subsidiary Roke to a US prime contractor working directly with the government.
• The contract is worth 26 million pounds ($31.7 million) and will be used to supply a component for missile systems and air drones.
• Chemring’s US subsidiary CED has been awarded a $106m contract to provide essential components for a classified U.S. missile program.
• Chemring’s shares rose on the back of the US contract win for missile radars.
• The company also secured €231 million in an agreement with Diehl Defence for MCX energetic material.
• Chemring Energetic Devices received a $106 million order for a US missile program.
