Hundreds of UK jobs sustained with £285m combat management systems contract

 

• BAE Systems has secured a £285m contract from the UK Ministry of Defence to support the Royal Navy’s Shared Infrastructure, Combat Management Systems (CMS) and warship networks.
• The contract, which spans eight years, aims to enhance Shared Infrastructure, Combat Management Systems (CMS), and warship networks.
• The contract will sustain over 200 UK jobs, boosting the Royal Navy’s ability to track, analyse, and respond to threats in combat.
• The contract will support over 200 jobs within BAE Systems’ Naval Ships division, with further investment in UK SMEs and high-tech suppliers.
• The contract builds on a 13-year partnership between BAE Systems and the Royal Navy.
• The contract will sustain more than 200 highly skilled jobs at BAE Systems’ sites in Filton, Dorchester, New Malden, Frimley, and Portsmouth, while fostering investment in UK small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) and tech suppliers.
• The contract is expected to safeguard 200-plus jobs across a range of BAE Systems’ sites and boost the company’s competitiveness in the military.our-year agreement will provide the MoD’s Defence Geographic Agency (DGA) with access to Maxar Geospatial Platform (MGP) Pro, supporting mapping, intelligence, and operational missions.
