Purpose and Scope:
Support the contract by providing 24/7/365 secure telephone services for the US Air Force/DoD. This position is in support of the Air Force Contract Augmentation Program (AFCAP) and is located at Ascension Island Auxiliary Airfield (AAAF).
Essential Responsibilities:
Record and maintain all 911 medical and emergency communications received using the Government provided tool (currently NexLog).
Operate a Fire Alarm Communications Center (FACC) or Emergency Communications Center (ECC) to conduct essential FES communication and dispatch services.
Receive and place calls with courtesy and tact.
Provide information services and /or transfer calls to proper number.
Compile information for usage reports of all customers.
Place calls for management officials during emergencies or other special instances as required.
Minimum Position Knowledge, Skills and Abilities Required:
High school diploma or equivalent training/experience and 2 years telephone/switchboard experience.
Ability to read and write English is required.
Must be able to receive instructions/directions and provide progress reports via radio or cellular phone.
Solid communications skills, strong interpersonal skills.
Strong ability to work as a member of a diverse, dynamic team.
Outstanding problem-solving skills and sound judgment.
Possess a valid passport from their country and could obtain a work visa.
Ability to successfully pass contract medical requirements and maintain requirements for duration of deployment.
Candidate should be other country national (OCN) or local national (LN).
Prefer candidate who has experience working on a US Government contract.
Work Environment, Physical Demands, and Mental Demands:
This position will be located at Ascension Island, a remote island.
Living and working conditions at the assignment location could be remote and uncomfortable.
Long hours, exposure to weather and hazardous conditions.
Personnel should be aware of moving on short notice and under adverse conditions.
Ability to travel domestically and internationally.
