Thales Belgium SA, Belgium competence center of Thales, is a company located on 2 sites, one in Tubize (near Brussels) and the other one in Herstal (near Liège). Thales Belgium, which employs more than 280 collaborators, is specialized in the design, development and supply of critical information systems for customers in the sectors of Defense, Security (including Cyber) and Aerospace.
As CREO/ windchill draftsman, you will work on the Herstal site within a team of 6 to 8 people consisting of other draftsman and design engineers, this within the team of Design & Configuration (:12 people) which is part of the Engineering Department. You will report directly to the Design & Configuration team leader. You will interact on regular basis with the Design engineers and configuration manager.
Responsibilities:
Responsible for providing detailed drawings and assembly drawings 3D modeling
Creates 3D in Creo and 2D drawings in windchill for multiple product lines
Main tasks:
Providing 3D models and 2D DRW’s according the general design rules (e.g; form & place tolerances, material indications, …)
Transforms initial rough product designs or sketches into working models and documents
Utilizes knowledge of various machining technologies, engineering best practices, mathematics, materials, … to complete drawings
Perform minor design updates or any necessary changes to existing models or drawings
Maintains/ adapts relationships of models and drawing files in an organized fashion
Aligns the development of 2D and 3D drawings with the design engineering lead
Profile:
You have a bachelor degree, domain of mechanical engineering, with minimum 3 to 5 years of experience in a draftsman role
Preferably you live in a range of 45 min from the site of Herstal
Experience in Defence, Aerospace or Automotive industry is a plus
Experience with Creo and Windchill is mandatory
Self-motivated, taking ownership and driving topics to fulfill your deadlines
You are a team player, good interpersonal and communication skills
Fluent in French and proficient in English
